Happy Birthday, Friend!

Today is one of my best friend's birthday. (I am getting teary eyed just writing this because I miss her so!) Just wanted to say happy birthday to Jamie and tell you why she is such a wonderful-one-of-a-kind person.

*She is ALWAYS there for you...for babysitting, good food, great sweets, a listening ear, a playdate, a prayer warrior, a lunch date, or just for a good laugh. I asked her to pray about something just 2 days ago and today I got a card in the mail saying she was indeed praying about it and thinking about me. Friends like that are uncommon!

*She cooks so good it makes me crazy. She is always cooking and she even cooks from scratch. (I don't really even know what that means.) She gave me a cookbook from her family's favorite recipes and they all look so good, BUT some of the recipes have 2 pages of ingredients...I get overwhelmed just reading them. One day I am going to make something out of that book and I am sure it will be divine! Even Z knows that she is good for a treat...we were on our way out to the park one day to meet she and her little guy and I told Z that we needed to pack some snacks. He said, "Mrs. Jamie always brings some. She will share with me." He's no dummy--he knows her homemade rice krispy treats put my packaged fruit snacks to shame!

*She is surprisingly funny! Every once in a while she will say something that makes me laugh every time I think of it.

*She is an inspiration to me in this whole "mommy" job. She has patience like I have never seen. (She says that she loses her temper, but I really think she just tells me that to make me feel better.) She is always teaching her children, whether it be about nature or new bible verses....it never seems like they have an idle moment without learning something.

*She is a great example of what a Godly wife looks like.

*And the best part of it all is that she does it all with ease...and looks dang good doing it!!

Happy Birthday, Jamie! I love you!

Oh my goodness--I don't think I've ever had a blog post dedicated to me!!! I'm so honored! Thank you for ALL the sweet things you wrote (they're a stretch, but no one else has to know that!) We went to Senor Tequila for dinner tonight--wasn't the same without you! I can't believe it's been a whole year since you organized the surprise dinner for my 30th b-day. Thanks again...I've had a great birthday. (I still love that Z was counting on me to bring treats to the park--that was my motivation from then on!)

I grew up with Jamie and oddly enough , I now live about 20 minutes from where you do. Anyway, Jamie has always been special like this. I've always admired what a wonderful person she is.

This is so sweet! Jamie is probably one of the most precious people I have ever known. And she has always been this way (I've known her since she was 8!)

All we can add to your sweet post about Jamie is "Amen". Jamie is all that and more. A precious girl all her life! We love her and I am so glad she is your precious friend too!

I'm way behind with the blogging business these days so I'm a little late reading this, but I LOVED this! I get sad everytime I think about you guys moving because Jamie thinks so much of you too and I know she misses you all! Jamie is so special, and your post made me cry--I don't know where I'd be or what I'd do without her. She is so loving and humble about everything...I love the part about her temper--sometimes I think she is just saying that too! When we go places it's like I am the crazy mom yelling at her kids and she is so sweet and patient! She is definitely someone to look up to and try to model after! Micaela
