Celeste's parents were gracious enough to invite us to a brunch at their home the morning after the wedding. They live on a really neat ranch outside of Austin. It was fun to talk to everyone, including the newly weds, after a late night of celebrating. We were honored to be a part of Clay and Celeste's special weekend and hope that they enjoyed the festivities even more than we did.

Our First Born

Z is so very special to his daddy and I. We never knew how much our hearts could love a little person until the day he was born. We also didn't realize that every day that he is on this earth, we would love him more. It is so hard to believe that he will be four at the end of this month. It has been an amazing four years! We thank God every day that he picked us to be this little guy's parents. He is smart, funny, quirky, sensitive, adventurous, creative and so much fun!

I wanted to share some pictures of him that I took recently. It used to be so much fun and so easy to take good shots of him, but that has all changed over the past year or so. I was so happy with these. Did I mention, he is adorably cute, too???

I have been waiting to post anything about the wedding that Brandon was in a few weeks ago because I had so many pictures to post. I had great intentions on figuring out how to put a slide show on with all my great pics. I came to the realization today that I am probably never going to know how to make a slide show and put it on my blog, but if for some reason I do figure it out, it will not be for a while! (We are moving this weekend and I am having a garage sale!)

Anyway...

We had a fabulous time in Austin. It was great to be together, to be without kids and to see many of our college friends. The wedding was wonderful and we were so glad to see Clay so happy.

I am posting rehearsal and day-after brunch pics separately so that I can share more pictures!

Clay and Celeste's rehearsal dinner was a barbecue at the Salt Lick Barbecue Pavillion in Austin. It was the neatest setting complete with a creek flowing by. The food was delicious, the drinks cold, the decorations very "Texas", the music great---a good time was had by all. :) I even wore my boots! Sorry that I didn't get a picture of that for ya'll! It was a great kickoff for a weekend of fun!

Fair Day

Z actually rode this with Raegan. Brandon and I were scared to death he was going to fall out because we noticed after he got on that there was a sign that said, "This ride has no seatbelts!" Seriously?!

Saturday afternoon Brandon and I took the boys to the Titus County Fair. We waited until the thermometer hit 105 before we ventured out. You wouldn't believe how hot it was!! T lasted less than thirty minutes---we called Grana to come and rescue him. (I am learning how cool it will soon be to grandparents who can do this with just a phone call!)



The heat didn't bother Z a bit. He loved the rides, the funnel cake, the games (at $5 a pop), the snow cone, the cotton candy, the prizes and the performer who juggled and rode a unicycle. He also got to see his buddy, Landon's, pig that he had raised and was selling. Z was a little upset that Landon was selling "Miss Money", but he was super excited that he got to touch her and walk in her pen.



Z's day was perfect. Mommy and Daddy were hot, tired and BROKE after all the fun at the fair! B commented at one time that it smelled like hot, sweaty people. I didn't have the heart to tell him that it was his bride he was smelling! :)

Texas Football

We experienced a weekend full of Texas Fall this weekend. Too bad the weather didn't feel very "fallish"!

Friday night Brandon and I took Z to a Mt. Pleasant Tigers' football game. He most definitely caught Texas High School Football Fever. He was stomping his feet, cheering, waving his "Tiger Towel", eating all the nutrious snacks that a football stadium offers and having the time of his life. He told us on the way home that he is coming to every game when he moves to Texas. We told his Grana about the Tiger t-shirts that all the kids were wearing, and those who know Grana, know that we now have our very own. He has worn it almost non-stop since he got it (see "fair" post). Even T got one for when he is old enough to catch "the fever."

Rocky XXVII

Brandon has always loved all of the Rocky movies. He can quote almost every word to all 8 (or however many) movies. Saturday night he got to show us all the moves he has learned from watching those movies over and over again. His two younger cousins, Raegan and Emma, have some fancy game (iGame, I think) that is interactive and lets you actually box a computer opponent. My stomach hurt from laughing so hard watching Brandon, Z and the girls play it.

For those of you who think Brandon is really quiet and reserved, this will be a great chance for you to see him in action.

"Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee"...or something like that.

The next one is a clip of a challenge between Raegan and Brandon. Raegan won...not because she was better, but because she outlasted Brandon by a long shot!

In case anyone who is wondering who the cheerleader that you can hear is in both clips, it's Jon, Raegan and Emma's daddy. Can you tell he was a coach???
